Cover Supervisor - East Riding

Are you looking for further experience working within a secondary school where you can lead lessons?
Our client secondary school in the East Riding is looking for a strong, confident individual to join them after May half term to work as a cover supervisor on a long term, full time basis. This school are looking for a individual who can exercise good behaviour management skills within the classroom and ensure students stay on task.
The successful cover supervisor should therefore be motivated and flexible to work across departments and have a real passion for working with young adults at secondary school age.
Key highlights of the Cover Supervisor role:
- Full time, long term opportunity to work within a secondary school environment
- Gain the ideal experience to set you up ready for a future in teaching and to support a PGCE application
- Network within a secondary school that is a key part of the local community and has links with other local secondary schools and feeder primary schools
- Lead lessons in the absence of a classroom teacher and get a real feel for what it is like being an educator
- Access to Teaching Personnels FREE CPD course on 'Being an effective Cover Supervisor' as well as school based inductions
The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver already set work to students within a classroom setting. The successful cover supervisor won't be expected to plan and mark within this role but will work across departments as the school require. There is also the possible opportunity to tutor students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, further gaining invaluable experience of educating students within the school environment.
The school is located close to the M62. For those on public transport, the school is easily accessible via the trains and buses from Hull, Doncaster, Selby and Sheffield.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
