Cover Supervisors wanted

Cluster of secondary schools in Caerphilly

£100 per day

Full time and part time positions  

Teaching Personnel are looking for Cover supervisors to cover KS3 and KS4 lessons in secondary schools across Caerphilly. As a cover supervisor your main responsibility will be managing classroom behaviour and delivering pre planned work set by the teacher. Children can get distracted and disengaged when their regular teacher isn’t in, it’s the cover supervisor’s duty to ensure the students are engaged and happy, and that they feel supported doing their work.

We are looking for individuals who are confident, resilient and have a passion for working with young people. The role will require you to establish yourself as someone that students will listen to, so good communication skills is key for this position. This position will offer both on and off the job training that will help you become a brilliant classroom practioner.

Role of a Cover Supervisor

  • Supervising work that has been set in accordance with school policy
  • Liaising with teaching staff with regard to work set for a class
  • Managing the behaviour of students to ensure a constructive environment whilst undertaking work
  • Responding to any questions from students about process and procedure
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school's policies and procedures
  • Collecting any completed work and resources after the lesson and returning them to the appropriate teacher or subject leader
