An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in Cwmbran.  This is a full-time position and will be for the duration of the academic year.

As an Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant, you will offer support to students with varying learning needs.  The school are particularly interested in applications from individuals with knowledge of/ interest in supporting pupils with: Autism, ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.

There will be an opportunity to join the school on a contact pending a successful review in July.

Start Date: 21st March 2022 (the school may be willing to wait for the right candidate)  

£10.20 - £12.5 per hour.

Hours: 8.30am - 3.15pm

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Work within a team of Teaching Assistants under the guidance of the school ALNCo
  • Prepare learning materials under the supervision of the teacher
  • Look after pupils physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Keep records of students progress and attend review meetings with the class teacher and ALNCo.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures

Requirements:

  • DBS on the Update Service
  • EWC Registration
  • Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults
