Graduate Sports Coach

Our client school wishes to appoint an enthusiastic sports coach to join the schools Physical Education to support the schools students across years 7-11. Due to a staffing restructure, the school now has an exciting opportunity for a graduate sports coach to join the department until the end of the academic year.

The successful Sports Coach will be an enthusiastic, well-qualified graduate or dynamic coach. They will be able to lead coaching sessions to develop student skill and fitness. The successful sports coach will be responsible for cover and lead training sessions, physical education lessons and other subjects when required. They will provide positive and constructive feedback to students on their performance as and when required. We are looking for a sports coach with a true love of the subject and the ability to convey this to students is essential!

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful school with a national reputation for Physical Education, Health and Well Being. Students are regularly involved in Healthy Schools projects such as Health Promotion campaigns. Students in all years and staff also get involved in our biannual Health Days, one of which features the Summer Health Walk. Our client schools PE department is a well-resourced department that offers professional development opportunities and training.

As Health is our client schools specialism, students have one lesson a week during which they learn about issues which are important to their own health and well-being. This includes topics such as keeping themselves safe, drugs and alcohol education, sex and relationship education, or first aid delivered by the ORCS team from Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our client school is the local secondary provider of choice at the heart of our community. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have expanded further with a £10 million project, which concluded in October 2018. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, our client school is now embarking on the next stage of its journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help them achieve this ambition.

The school is located near to Baguley and Timperley, a short drive from exit 4 on the M56 and easily accessible via the Manchester Airport Metro links from the city centre and public bus routes. The school also has a large free car park for all staff members.
