Are you a graduate looking to develop on your prior experience working with young people with additional needs/challenging behaviour?
Perhaps you're a graduate with extensive voluntary experience working with either SEN or challenging youths and are looking for progression opportunities?
Here at Teaching Personnel - we support graduates to find long-term, full-time education-based roles in the more challenging areas of the curriculum - including positions as Learning Support Assistants, SEN TA's and Behaviour Mentors.
The Behaviour Mentor responsibilities:
Behaviour Mentors are required to provide guidance to class teachers and school-wide on a 1:1 basis with individuals who experience behavioural, emotional and social challenges. Alongside members of the behavioural team, you will implement Inclusive Learning Plans for your key pupil and you will work in stimulated environments to maximise learning potential.
Behaviour Mentor specification:
The successful Behaviour Mentor will have a minimum of a 2:2 degree, whilst experience of supporting pupils on an ILP in any capacity is essential. Any enhanced training or knowledge of specific behavioural/language therapies will be extremely advantageous. You will receive training within this role but some experience working with young people is a must.
Location: Islington, London
Role: Behaviour Mentor/Learning Mentor
Duration: Long-term, full-time role commencing in November 2018
Pay: £65-£70 a day (paid on a weekly basis)
Essential criteria: Must have a minimum 2:1 degree with experience supporting challenging pupils
Desirable criteria: Previous work within a school or behavioural unit or training in either Makaton/PECS or Team-Teach (training can be provided)
