Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Special Educational Needs school in North Yorkshire to recruit a team of graduates to work as Teaching Assistants to support the learning of children aged 11-16. The successful graduates will deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups. You will also be required to support the social and emotional development of pupils and assist with the management of behaviour.

Servicing a large catchment area, from Stockton on Tees to Harrogate the school is located within beautiful surroundings. It is host to around 200 pupils and has access to a 5.5 acre farm on site. The school has excellent sporting facilities and is easily accessible from the A1 with on site parking. In it's most recent OFSTED inspection it was graded 'good in all aspects'

This is a fantastic opportunity for any individual who wants to prepare for teacher training. Working via supply is an excellent method for gaining experience and building contacts within schools. We welcome applications from graduates of all subjects.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Experience or a keen interest in supporting children with SEN including MLD and SLD
  • A Patient and nurturing manner
  • A passion for working within a specialist SEN setting

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
