Graduate teaching assistant Wakefield

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school close to central Wakefield who seeks to hire 2 suitable individuals to the role of graduate teaching assistant on a full time basis.

Are you a graduate and aspiring secondary teacher looking for a teaching assistant position? Or perhaps you are taking a break from your PGCE/teacher training until September and want to continue working in a secondary school environment before revisiting your studies? Our partner school in Wakefield have 2 full time graduate teaching assistant positions, starting ASAP on a full time basis. The role of teaching assistant will be to support pupils both individually and on a group basis, taking direction from teachers and other members of the support staff department. The school have identified a cohort of children in KS4 (year 10/11) and also a number of year 7 pupils that require support to help achieve their confidence and potential. Ideally you will have previous teaching assistant experience and be competent supporting a specific subject (English/maths/science) to have an impact in lessons.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
