Have you recently completed your degree and considering working within education? Does the opportunity to gain experience before applying to teacher training appeal to you?

A number of partner schools are looking to recruit graduates for day-to-day and long term placements; you will preferably be available full time for Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor roles. You will need to have a strong academic background, ideally within English or Psychology, as you could be working across a range of classes and departments.

This cover supervisor/teaching assistant role will involve:

  • Supporting class teachers across both Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Leading small groups of pupils with specific modules
  • Delivering 1:1 support to individual children
  • Planning and monitoring progress in the run up to exams
  • Delivering pre-planned work to the classroom in the absence of the teacher

To be considered for these roles you will need to be/have:

  • Passionate about aiding children's progress
  • A degree and A-levels in either English, Maths and Psychology and a strong academic background
  • Classroom or tutoring experience

This is an excellent opportunity to work in Secondary, SEN and Alternative Schools in Scarborough and surrounding areas. You will be given full support throughout your registration and a school based induction before the role commences.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
