Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cover Supervisor to join our team, providing cover in the absence of the class teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to engage with their studies during the cover period.

Throughout this role, you will work on a flexible basis, managing your own availability and working on your chosen days.

You will earn a competitive salary, up to £100 per day.

As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to supervise and manage classes in the absence of the class teacher. This will involve:

  • Ensuring students understand the work set by the class teacher and are able to continue with their learning during the cover period.
  • Managing behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting students with additional needs and ensuring they receive the necessary assistance.
  • Liaising with the class teacher to receive relevant information about the lesson and any specific requirements for the class.
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on the students’ progress during the cover period.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification, such as a degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport with students and adapt to different teaching styles.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
