Graduate Behaviour Support Assistants

Primary and Secondary Pupil Referral Units in Southwark, Lewisham & Croydon are looking for graduate Behaviour Support Assistants to work with pupils. A successful candidate will have the right attitude alongside some experience in order to meet the demands of the role supporting SEN pupils with Challenging behaviour. Most of the pupils are on the Autism spectrum, with additional needs, such a ADHD, SEMH, SLD and MLD. The pupils have behaviour that is of a challenging nature, therefore you must have a resilient and firm-but-fair attitude.

Full time:

Full time positions are available, to start in June and September. If you are successful, you will work with the pupils in the class, assisting with class work when they need it to ensure they are not struggling with with their work, and provide support if they are having a difficult day.

This post is for an immediate start and will span until the end of the academic year with the idea that you will continue at the school in September.

Part time:

There are day-to-day positions for those who are seeking part time work, however, you must be available a minimum of 3 days a week to go into schools that require day cover for the day. You will be assisting classrooms or pupils on a 1:1 basis for the day depending on the school's needs for the day.

Pay rate is determined on training and experience.

Any training, such as safeguarding and team teach, is an advantage.

Graduates with sports science, psychology, music, or education degrees are welcome to apply.
