Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Special Educational Needs school in Sunderland to recruit a team of graduates to work as Teaching Assistants to support the learning of children aged 11-16. The successful graduates will deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups. You will also be required to support the social and emotional development of pupils and assist with the management of behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any individual who wants to prepare for teacher training. Working via supply is an excellent method for gaining experience and building contacts within schools. We welcome applications from graduates of all subjects.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Experience or a keen interest in supporting children with SEN including ASC, MLD and SLD
  • A Patient and nurturing manner
  • A passion for working within a specialist SEN setting
