Geography Teacher Required URGENTLY

  • £600 - £750 per week
  • Planning and delivering Geography lessons at KS3 and KS4
  • Supportive Humanities department and SLT

Teaching personnel are working with a school in the Derbyshire area who are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Geography to start in January 2018 who is able to teach from KS3-KS4, although the school are looking to interview ASAP.

The school is an average sized secondary school with a sixth form, with around 750 students on roll and the proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is average.

Their latest OFSTED states, 'The behaviour of pupils is good. Pupils are helpful, polite and courteous to staff, visitors and to each other. The atmosphere in school is one of sharing and learning together'

The ideal candidate will help students to:

• Develop an interest and enthusiasm for History and its contribution to the wider political and social environment

• Practice skills, qualities and attitudes which will equip them for the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of adult and working life

• Apply economic concepts and theories in a range of contexts and appreciate their value and limitations in explaining real world phenomena

• Be able to build a good rapport with pupils and demonstrate good behavior management.

• Have QTS with exceptional subject knowledge.
