Our client secondary school is looking for a Geographer to join them in January 2019. This secondary school is situated in the central Manchester area with the teacher of Geography being required for an open vacancy within the Humanities department. The school have had the benefit of one of the current Geography teachers advise them of their pending resignation as a result of a personal relocation. The school have therefore gained more notice in their requirement of a confident, strong and successful Geographer to join their supportive Geography department.

This position as an open vacancy is for an unknown period of time but the successful Geography specialist will have the opportunity to earn a school based contract if this is ideal for them. The school are interested in using this supply based placement as a trial towards a permanent position being secured. Initially the successful teacher of Geography will be required for a term/2 terms until the end of the academic year.

Students are expected to get the most from each day whilst adhering to school guidelines and policies and staff are expected to follow suit providing a certain level of teaching.

Strong behaviour management is expected of all teachers at school in line with expectations of students and innovative, engaging lessons are highly encouraged. The school is located in the central Manchester area, making it very accessible to teachers travelling from Bury, Bolton, Tameside, Prestwich and central/South Manchester. There are a selection of teachers who live in the Bury area who have advised the journey to school is an easy one via car or public transport. The local Metrolink services the school on a regular basis as well as the school having 2 large on site secure car parks.
