Humanities Teacher (SEN) - Oldham - September 2017

The Trustees of an Outstanding SEN School in Oldham are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teacher of Humanities to join their dynamic, growing and committed Multi Academy Trust from September 2017.

They are interested in applicants who have experience of supporting children or young people with Autism or Special Educational Needs within the primary or secondary sector.

This is also an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher who can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils and is looking to work for an organisation which provides opportunities for professional development and progression.

The successful candidate will:

* Be an excellent Humanities practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development

* Have experience of teaching Humanities (History or Geography or RE) at Key Stages 3 and 4, including lower level learners

* Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs

* Have experience of enhancement of pupil progress gains and raising attainment and achievement levels of all pupils

* Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve

* Have specific experience / interest in working with pupils with SEND

* Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs

* Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community

* Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
