Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in one of our exciting client schools in the South of Manchester. We are looking for someone to start after the February half-term holiday.

The salary for this position is £1,500 to £1750 per month.

The main responsibility for this position is to support the most vulnerable children in the classroom by working with them on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. You will be responsible for monitoring their progression and providing them with timely feedback. The successful candidate will develop individual learning plans and support the child with their Educational Healthcare Plans. The students that you will be working alongside will predominantly be autistic and require additional support. You will also be supporting pupils with ADHD, dyslexia, and other Moderate Learning Difficulties.

This school is a mixed gender school, providing education to children between the ages of 11 and 16. The school is in the South of Manchester and is easily commutable from areas such as Didsbury, Chorlton and Sale. This school is in a disadvantaged area. The number of students who require additional SEN support is in line with the national average. The proportion of students who are eligible for free school meals, however, is more than double the national average.

This position is ideal for a recent Psychology graduate, looking to gain experience working in behavioural support and SEN. You will be supported by Teaching Personnel, as well as the school, in your development. Due to the disadvantaged nature of the school and working alongside vulnerable children, this position will be highly rewarding.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the learning development of children with special needs, specifically with autism. You must have a degree in Psychology or experience working with children with special needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
