Full time Geography Teacher required for a Bolton based Secondary school from Easter 2019 for a 12 month maternity cover.

This well respected independent Secondary school based in central Bolton has been noted for its dynamic teaching and learning approach amongst all their staff. With a member of staff within the Geography faculty set to take maternity leave the school are now seeking a passionate Geography teacher to join their staff team.

  • Full time Geography Teacher, Easter 2019 - Bolton.
  • Must hold strong subject specific qualifications alongside evidence of outstanding teaching.

  • Pay in line with pay scale MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406. *Dependant upon evidence of relevant scale and experience*.

The demands of this Geography teacher role require a confident practitioner who has developed their pedagogy in the delivery of effective teaching, learning and leadership.

The responsibilities of the role as the Geography Teacher will include, but not be limited to;

  • Promote an excellent teaching practice in Geography, evaluating the quality of teaching and standards of pupil's achievement, and setting targets for improvement.
  • Establish and maintaining policies and practices to promote positive behaviour and achievement in Geography within the framework of the school Behaviour Policies.
  • Deliver paramount Geography lessons, using creative and student centred teaching methods.
  • Demonstrate a progressive teaching style focused on raising student attainment.

This smaller than average independent Secondary school with just over 500 pupils on roll has been noted for its outstanding development in all areas, by Ofsted and continues to triumph all challenges through the delivery of progressive, student centred learning.
