Science teacher – Stockport

A secondary school in Stockport are in need of a Science teacher to start after Easter for the final term with the possibility of the position to be ongoing after the summer holidays.

The Stockport School is a Roman Catholic school and as a Catholic school they intend to put Jesus Christ at the centre of everything they do. The Stockport school is smaller than an average with less than 800 pupils on roll at the school. The school has an average amount of pupils with SEN. The successful Science teacher will benefit from previous experience with SEN pupils. The school has 25.8% of its pupils on free school meals which is slightly less than the national average.

The successful Science teacher will working with a supportive faculty. The successful Science teacher will be working with students of all abilities and secondary ages from KS3 to KS4 therefore needs to have previous experience. The position is open to newly qualified and experience teachers and will be a great way to gain a new skill set for any successful Science teacher. The successful Science teacher will be working with pupils and a faculty who have been graded Good by Ofsted for Personal development, behaviour and welfare.

The successful Science teacher will be working closely with the department and the head to achieve the standard of the school. The successful Science teacher needs to have a strong understanding of the national curriculum and ideally previous experience working in a Roman Catholic school. The successful Science teacher will need to have a DBS on the update service and suitable school based references.
