Job description

Science teacher required for maternity cover

  • Earn up to £198 per day
  • Initially for 1 term
  • Northumberland School

A Northumberland secondary school is seeking to appoint a Science teacher to cover a maternity leave. The position is to begin in April 2017 initially until July 2017, although this may be extended into the next academic year. The successful science teacher will have experience of teaching to GCSE, across the science disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly effective Science Faculty in a well regarded school. The school is based in the coastal area of Northumberland and is a short drive from Newcastle and the Tyne Tunnel making it easily commutable from the surrounding areas.

Both fully qualified teachers and NQTs are welcome to apply.

The successful Science teacher will have:

- A UK recognised teaching qualification

- Experience teaching science to KS4

- Good behaviour management skills

- An ability to plan and deliver effective lessons

- A good understanding of the Science National Curriculum

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
