A large Secondary school located between Oldham and Marsden have a high demand for teaching assistants to work within their school for the rest of the academic year. The school are partnered with a number of Universities, so this position is beneficial for teaching assistants looking to begin a teacher training course in September.
Job highlights;
- Full time opportunity, immediate start until summer 2017 initially
- Supporting students from KS3 and KS4 in their English, Maths and Science classes
- Covering full class lessons in the absence of the class teacher, building confidence and behaviour management strategies
- Boost experience to enhance future PGCE applications
It is essential that you have previous experience working with students aged 11-16 in order to be considered for this position.
As a teaching assistant, you will work with identified students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis to ensure that they are able to complete the set work to their best ability. You will also have the opportunity to cover lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher. This will enable you to strengthen your behaviour management strategies and classroom presence in preparation for teacher training.
Located to the east of Oldham, our partner school is accessible from Tameside, Rochdale and Delph. The school is larger than average with over 1000 pupils on roll , and has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted consistently.
