Youth Worker - Sheffield

  • ** Attractive rates of pay upto £70 p/d and flexible working hours **

Are you an experienced youth worker who has a passion for working with young people who display challenging behavior?

Do you take a keen interest in helping children who have social, emotional mental health difficulties to make progress?

Perhaps you are considering working in a school setting, if so this Secondary school needs you!

We are working with a Secondary school who has a number of pupils who they have identified as having social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Some may also have associated learning difficulties which have impacted on their ability to access the curriculum.

We are recruiting for strong Youth workers / support workers who are passionate about supporting students with these kinds of needs and who are able to develop rapport on a diverse level.

Previous experience of working with children who have a specialist statement would be ideal however this is not essential. The school is particularly keen to provide TAs with progression and ownership in particular areas of intervention. Experience of delivering and helping to deliver either Maths, English or Science would be an advantage.

Ideal candidates for this role will:

Have previous experience working with children or want to pursue a career specialising in behavior

Be eligible to work within the UK

Be a driven, dedicated and hard-working individual

Be able to build good rapport with students

Hold a current DBS with the update service or willing to obtain a new one with Teaching Personnel

Provide two current work based, child related references.

Desired skillset and experience:

Team teach

Teaching assistant/support worker

Youth work

Mentoring

SEN experience

School based knowledge

Good curriculum understanding.
