Cover Supervisor (Manchester)

  • Part time Cover Supervisor post, starting in September
  • Cover pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher

Are you an aspiring secondary teacher looking to enhance your experience prior to starting a teacher training course?

If so, our client secondary school in the North of Central Manchester is currently seeking a part time Cover Supervisor for the full academic year.

About the school:

This is a mixed 11-16 academy situated of the M60 in the town Blackley, in the North of Manchester City Centre; the school is easily accessible via a range of public transport links from the city centre. This is a new built secondary school based on a large site with excellent provisions for all students, since opening the school has consistently improved in all areas and has been recognised as being the most improved secondary school in Manchester 2014-2016. Students at the school have a positive attitude to learning with there being a good relationship between the staff and students, creating a positive atmosphere throughout.

As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for:

• Covering lessons in the absence of the teacher

• Support low ability students or those identified as gifted and talented when cover is not needed

• Gain an understanding of different strategies for teaching and behaviour management prior to starting your teacher training course

• Career and professional development courses will be provided

• Get paid between £50-£65 a day dependant on experience

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
