Are you an aspiring Secondary school teacher who has previous work with children and young adults? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge and to gain first hand classroom experience in a Secondary school? Teaching Personnel work on the behalf of an inner city Secondary school who are looking to appoint a cover supervisor who will be available in the absence of teachers. The post is full or part time dependant on the successful applicant.

The Manchester Secondary school is situated just outside the city centre with easy access to transportation links. The role of the cover supervisor will include covering in the absence of teacher therefore the successful Cover supervisor needs to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the school. The Manchester school has recently undertaken development and the successful cover supervisor will be working with supportive faculty. The school is in a diverse, vibrant and multi cultural area and the successful Cover supervisor will come across challenging behaviour. Therefore the Manchester school are looking to appoint a Cover supervisor who has previous experience as a youth worker or with children and adults with challenging behaviour. The Manchester school is smaller than the average school with just over 900 pupils on role and 25.9% of the students with English as an additional language the cover supervisor would ideally have experience with EAL students.

The successful Cover supervisor needs to have an excellent classroom presence and good behaviour management. Ideally the successful Cover supervisor will have a DBS on the update service and be able to provide suitable references to be cleared for work.
