FUTURE TEACHERS!!
Are you an aspiring teacher? Are you hoping to complete your PGCE and would like to gain classroom experience? Perhaps you would like to gain some experience in the classroom before committing to a PGCE to ensure that it is the right pathway for you?
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching assistants and cover supervisors.
As a teaching assistant you will support students in all aspects of their education, sometimes on a 1:1 basis and sometimes in small groups. Students that you could help support could have a number of additional needs including but not limited to physical disabilities, ADHD, Downs syndrome, Autism, Behavioural issues, low IQ.
Any experience you have working with young people or people with additional learning needs will be a huge advantage.
Cover supervisors will deliver lessons left by teachers in their absence. You will not be expected to plan or mark as a cover supervisor but will need excellent classroom management skills. You will have an ability to problem solve and deal with any potential challenging behaviour effectively.
The ideal candidate:
- Have prior experience working with children with SEN.
- Enjoy working with children in both 1:1 situations and in group settings.
- Demonstrate what additional and different learning techniques you have to help close the gap between lower and higher level ability pupils.
- An approachable, calm and professional manner.
- Have positive behaviour management skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in working practices and the ability to know when to use initiative.
- Have positive working relationships with children, staff and parents as well as excellent communication skills.
- Be full of energy and enthusiasm.
- Will be available to start in September.
