What is the Future Teachers Programme?

The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.

How does it work?

You will begin your journey to teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, on a full time basis, working at one of our client primary schools across Northamptonshire for up to a year, starting in September 2019. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage in a range of tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a teacher, from supporting pupils with their studies in small groups and 1:1, to assisting class teachers across all departments including your specialism and getting involved with planning/delivering your own lessons!

Upon successful completion of your 1 years experience as a graduate teaching assistant, you will begin a school based teacher training programme from September 2020 within a lead training school.

Best of all, you will earn up to £1200 a month for your first year whilst enhancing your confidence, subject knowledge and teaching ability prior to beginning your training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
