Are you a Functional Skills Tutor, looking for work within Scarborough and surrounding villages?

  • Opportunity for flexible working hours
  • Rates of pay from £20 to £30 per hour (depending on role and experience)
  • CPD courses offered both online and in-house

Have you been delivering Functional Skills to small groups or on a 1:1 basis?

A number of partner schools are looking to recruit Tutors for medium and long term placements; you will preferably be available at least 2 hours a day. You will need to have experience working with vulnerable children or adults.

This role will include:

  • Supporting small groups and delivering on a 1:1 basis; out reach or in reach
  • Leading small groups of pupils with specific modules
  • Planning and monitoring progress in the run up to exams

To be considered for these roles you will need to be/have:

  • Passionate about aiding children's progress
  • Strong behaviour management skills or knowledge of de-escalation techniques
  • Classroom or tutoring experience with the Functional Skills syllabus

This is an exciting opportunity to work in alternative and Secondary Schools in Scarborough and surrounding areas. You will be given full support throughout your registration and a school based induction before the role commences.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
