Job description

Required for a full time role is a teaching assistant with a passionate approach to working with children. You will ideally have experience supporting pupils who face barriers towards learning, direct school based experience is essential for this role.

The school is located in the Bolton area of greater Manchester, serving a diverse community where a large number of pupils are of ethnic minority backgrounds and many speak English as a second language. You will need to be confident of dealing with challenging behaviour and having a delicate approach to dealing with issues not always school related.

This teaching assistant role will be full time for the two terms with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position; you will be working closely with the pastoral team and also head of year 7. The role will involve supporting pupils across the age range, however a focus will be on supporting year 7 pupils who are making the transition from Primary school. Located in Bolton, the school is 15 minutes from the town centre and has direct transport links to Bury and Manchester via bus routes and the Metrolink tram. Secure parking is available on the school site, which is located 5 minutes from the M61 motorway.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
