Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced SEN Teachers in the Dorset area.

The school that we work with support students aged 3-19 years with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career whilst you help shape and develop our provisions to achieve this. As well as developing and delivering personalised learning, you will work with colleagues to support pupils with their daily routines, transitions and positive behaviour management.

As a teacher you will be responsible for the high quality of teaching with responsibility for their progress, welfare and positive outcomes.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

· Monitoring quality and standards

· Contributing to school planning and self-evaluation

· Providing professional support to other teachers and support staff

· Leading appropriate professional development.


  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.


  • Working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND.

  • Experience of working in a special school environment and in particular with pupils with autism.

  • Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
