Teaching Personnel are currently looking for great new candidates to take on the role of Learning Mentor, within an SEN school based in Plymouth.

This role is perfect for candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Outdoor Education
  • Youth Work
  • Health care
  • Care work
  • Sports coaching

About the role:

A Plymouth based SEN school is currently looking to recruit new Learning Mentors for their February intake. The learning mentor, similar to a teaching assistant, is there to support the daily progress and work of the student. However in this exciting role, you will not only be responsible for the 1:1 support during class work, but during the days planned activities. These could include swimming, climbing, trampolining, outdoor walks, libraries and much more. With you being the primary support role, you will carefully plan what activities will benefit your student's social and educational progress.

Successful Candidates:

  • Good relevant experience in SEN and backgrounds
  • Good behavioural management skills
  • Patient and empathetic
  • Full Clean UK Driving license
  • Preferably NVQ level 3 in a relevant topic

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service.
