Full-time Maths Teacher - South Liverpool - February 2019
**Covering a Maternity gap, the successful Maths teacher will be employed through till the end of the school year
**MPS/UPS depending upon previous teaching experience
**Teaching students ages ranging 11-16 up to GCSE level
**Must hold QTS - Specialising in Maths
Our client school in South Liverpool would like to appoint a Maths teacher to cover an upcoming Maternity gap in the new academic year that is forecasted within the department. The school are offering an initial 2 terms contract, which may be extended due to the nature of the position.
To be considered for this role, the successful Maths teacher must be a result driven/goal orientated teacher that is able to stretch the learning of students no matter what their ability. The appointed Maths teacher will be comfortable teaching students that are aged between 11-16 up to GCSE level and preparing them for upcoming exams over the summer period. The Head of Maths has highlighted that they would like to appoint somebody who can teach Maths in an enthusiastic and engaging manor and is able to inspire learning amongst all pupils.
In the most recent school Ofsted report it was highlighted that achievement in Mathematics is not as strong as in English but is improving quickly. The successful Maths teacher will receive complete support from Senior Leaders and other teachers within the department. There will be monthly reviews and CPD (Continuous Professional Development) sessions that are aimed at improving teaching as a whole within the Maths department to help push teachers towards 'Outstanding'.
The school is an all girls catholic secondary and was judged as a 'Good' school across all areas in its most recent Ofsted support and boasts results well above the national average.
