Teaching assistant required for SEN school in Erith - immediate start!

I am currently working with a large SEN school that caters for students with Autism and some moderate learning difficulties. Both primary and secondary aged students come to school here and you must be flexible in terms of the age of students you want to work with.

I am looking for a teaching assistant with knowledge of the national curriculum, as many students are able to access the lower national curriculum levels. You must have good levels of numeracy and literacy and be confident in using ICT.

You must also have experience of supporting children with autism. Some students are verbal but some are non-verbal and use either PECs or Makaton for communication. Training for either of these is highly desirable.

The role:

  • Full time
  • Starting after Easter (Monday 16th April)
  • Long term position with the potential to go permanent
  • 1:1 support for different children with autism/moderate learning difficulties
  • Work hours are 08:30 - 15:50 each day Monday - Friday
  • Providing personal care will be involved

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
