Foundation Phase Teacher role available in Cardiff

One of our beautiful Primary schools located in the heart of Cardiff are looking to recruit a new Foundation Phase Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team from September 2018. The School has developed a strong core of experienced teachers who have made a significant contribution to the school to come out of 'Special Measures' in November 2017 and they are looking to continue on a strong path of development and behaviour management for the children at the school and therefore looking to recruit an additional Foundation Phase specialist teacher.
In a lively, supportive and friendly space, the children at the school enjoy a mixture of structured and child-initiated activities to develop co-ordination, concentration and independence.
The Ideal Candidate :
You will help nurture and develop the knowledge, abilities, and social skills of children from two and a half to five years old and help to prepare them for the KS2 curriculum. The ideal teacher must hold a Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent) and have experience teaching the Foundation Phase curriculum in a full classroom setting. have taught for a minimum of one academic year in a British or International (English Speaking) school overseas. Please note that NQTs and Overseas Trained Teachers WILL also be considered. This role is available for a teacher committed to work until the exam period at the end of the academic year. The school is ideally looking for a teacher able to work from Monday to Friday BUT have stated they will consider part time applications (at least 3 days per week) for the right candidate.
You must be available to work from September 2018, Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30am to 4pm.
Applicants must :
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff
