PART TIME LEARNING SUPPORT MENTOR NEEDED FOR 11 YEAR OLD PUPIL IN FOSTER CARE. The child struggles with reading, writing and articulating his feelings which causes them to be frustrated and show poor behaviour.

The head of an inclusion unit in a Rhondda Cynon Taf comprehensive school is looking for an LSA to start a 1:1 role on the 12^th February. The role will be set over three days a week* supporting a male year 8 pupil who is also a looked after child. The pupil will need support until the end of the academic year, however, if the candidate gets on well, the school will be looking to take them onto permanent contract after a successful three month probationary period.

*Please note that the school will also be able to facilitate someone looking for full time work. The remaining two days not spent with your pupil will be spent supporting the school in other areas such as SEN and inclusion

• GBP60-GBP709 a day
• Three days a week (School can be flexible around you)
• 8:30 – 15:00 start and finish times
• 12^th February start date
• Role will go permanent for the right candidate

The school is based in RCT and has recently undergone the merger of two schools to create a 3-18 facility. Completion on the new site finished last year and boasts 4G sports pitches, performing art studios, state of the art music and art rooms and technology hubs as well as purpose built SEN and behaviour units.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and will have a patient and calm demeanour. The pupil sometimes struggles with concentration in lessons and needs a positive adult role model to help support him in his academic and social interactions around the school. He has the ability to do well in his classes, he just needs reassurance and positive reinforcement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
