- Pay Rate: £80 - £150 per day
We are urgently looking for a passionate and hard-working Sports Coach’s to work across Secondary schools in Birmingham.
To assist, deliver and monitor a coordinated programme of high quality, professional PE cover that is progressive and reflective of the needs of pupils, and supports the aim of increasing participation in PE and school sport by all children at the school.
General Duties
- To prepare and implement well-structured and progressive coaching programmes, under the direction of the Curriculum Leader for PE, ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of pupils and of the school.
- To support the PE team with the day-to-day running of the department, fixtures, lessons and sports events, including House competitions.
- To deliver coaching in a range of physical activities alongside teachers within the school curriculum and to have a focus on out of school hours learning.
- To be positive role model and advocate for sport, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children to participate in sport and physical activity.
- To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst all pupils, including those with physical disabilities, prioritising access and inclusion.
Ideal Candidate will
- Sports coaching qualifications in one or a number of sports disciplines (desired but not essential).
- Experience working with young people (in a school setting is desirable).+
- Have a good understanding of Performance Development.
- Know how to use skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT to support their teaching and wider professional activities.
- A desire and willingness to make a full contribution to the school’s enrichment and extra-curricular programme.
- A desire and willingness to act as a role model and 'Character Mentor' and to deliver outstanding lessons.
- Enhanced DBS registered or willing to acquire a new certificate.
- an effectively manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
- The ability to tailor their skills to meet the needs of each individual child.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
