Confident teaching KS4-KS5 Food Technology? If so we have the perfect role for you!

A mainstream Secondary school based in Buckinghamshire, High Wycombe is a popular 11 to 18 school with 890 students. The school are committed to the professional development of all their staff. The mainstream Secondary school in Buckinghamshire are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join their committed team of specialist staff in the Design Technology Department for Food Technology. The school are looking for a passionate person who is ambitious for their students and community and will support their inclusive ethos. This role will commence in December or January 2019and is a Food Technology maternity cover, the school will accept applicants that are both part and full time.

Qualifications Required

  • Good honours degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Evidence of recent or relevant training and development and/or further study General Requirements

The Food Technology Teacher will:

  • Attend scheduled meetings
  • Actively seek to develop professionally
  • Participate in the school appraisal process
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to the school policies
  • Be prepared to carry out additional duties, which may reasonably be required by the Headteacher.
  • Up to date and working knowledge of the teaching of Food Technology and appropriate resources which delivers outstanding teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching at KS4 and KS5.
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Excellent behaviour management skills

  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviour
  • Ability to act on own initiative
  • Ability to motivate and encourage students
  • Ability to observe and monitor progress and maintain records
