Food Technology Teacher

Our client secondary school based in the Central Manchester area is looking for a Food Technology teacher to cover a maternity leave.

Having spoken with the Head of Technology, they advised:

"We require a teacher to join us at the end of June/beginning of July ideally as our Food Technology teacher is due to go on maternity leave at this time. The successful teacher should have experience of teacher Technology at the very least but doesn't necessarily need experience of teaching Food Technology. We are able to offer support, and teaching for the right candidate who must have strong behaviour management.

This will be to cover a year's maternity leave in the first instance spanning July 2018 - June 2019."

The successful teacher will be expected to cover the Food Technology curriculum across the age and ability range but will benefit from the support of the Head of Faculty as well as senior leadership and a supportive team of Technologists.

Highlights of this Food Technology teaching position:

• Pay ranging between £120 - £180 per day depending on experience
• Full time Maternity cover: Food Technology, starting June/July 2018
• Opportunity to start September 2018 depending on availability and suitability
• Work alongside a highly supportive leadership team and Head of Department
• Willing to train and work with a Technology teacher with no prior experience teaching Food Technology

The school is located in the inner city area of Manchester with a diverse pupil base. The school is part of a local trust of outstanding schools and is working in this direction with the executive Head Teacher overseeing all schools.

The successful Food Technology teacher is expected to exercise effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school's extensive policies which are proving effective and constructive.
