Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for recent English Graduates to join one of our client schools in Manchester.

There are currently many opportunities for recent English Graduates to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a Teaching Assistant.

As an English Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the pupils who struggle the most academically by working in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
  • You should use the knowledge that you gained throughout university to answer any questions that the pupils may have about the lessons.
  • You should be able to support the teacher in managing the behaviour of the classroom.
  • You will be required to support the teacher in the delivery of lessons by supporting the pupils who have caused the most concern.

The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week. The position will be full-time, based on a 6.5 hour working day. The position is due to start in September.

The school that you will be working in is located in Manchester. It is easy to commute to from the East Manchester area by car or on public transport. The school often has issues with difficult behaviour, you must be able to confidently deal with any situations that occur with the support of the other teaching staff. Currently the school is not performing in line with the local average and is 50% lower than the national average in relation to their GCSE results.

In order to be successful, it is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check as well as provide at least two employment-based references to cover the last two years of your work history. You will also be required to complete a safeguarding course.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
