EYFS Teacher - Blackburn Primary School

A faith school in Blackburn requires a full time EYFS teacher. The position is to start after February half term 2019 due to maternity leave. The candidates must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS National Curriculum. The school provides an ideal EYFS setting including well organised outdoor provision, a wide variety of structured continuous provision and challenge areas, for example the children are given the responsibility to complete a number of tasks in different area throughout the week. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who is confident completing baseline assessments with the children and can produce efficient planning. In order to be successful you must have experience in the teaching of Phonics, particularly Letters and Sounds as well as Jolly Phonics.

The class is an average size with a catchment of mainly white British heritage children. In September a percentage of children came to school who were not 'school ready' and required support in fundamental skills such as toileting, speech and language and communication skills. A small number of those children still require additional support and the relevant support is in place, with a nursery nurse and two part time members of staff. The majority of the children are working in line with National expectation. The Head Teacher and all staff members are very proud of the improvements the school have made in the recent years. After the most recent Ofsted report, Early Years Provision was graded 'GOOD' and are now striving towards 'OUTSTANDING'.

Salary: £100-£150 per day

Monday to Friday (40 hours)
