SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Support Workers and Teaching Assistants to assist the brilliant SEN schools we work with across the Derbyshire area. The ideal candidate will have personal or professional experience with SEN, although this is not essential. You should be comfortable with behaviour management and 1:1 support.  We are looking for responsible and resilient individuals who are passionate about supporting the learning of SEN pupils across Derbyshire. Roles are available on a full and part-time basis staring in September. This could be a great option for an experienced TA looking for something more flexible, or for someone looking to begin a career in SEN learner support.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Supporting students who may need additional assistance in the classroom
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with SEN students
  • Carrying out administrative tasks
  • Managing behaviour in lessons

Desirable attributes for the role:

  • Enthusiasm for working with children
  • A caring and empathetic nature
  • Ability to be patient and understanding
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Private or personal experience with SEN

An up-to-date child only workforce DBS on the update service is a key requirement for all applicants (we can assist with this).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
