EYFS Learning Support Assistant for a Selby Primary School

Job description

We are currently supporting one of our client schools in Selby, who require a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Early Years Foundation Stage department.

The school, which has recently succeeded in moving from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good', prides itself on its broad and exciting curriculum, where lessons and activities are cross-curricular in order to keep pupils interested and inspired by their learning. The environment is exciting and supportive; where all staff are encouraged to focus on their own personal development, too.

This particular role, will involve you liaising with the EYFS class Teacher, providing general classroom support as well as planning and delivering group sessions for pupils who require additional support. A familiarity with the new EYFS framework will be beneficial and the ability to support pupils with basic early learning skills is a necessity. A background of working with pupils with low ability and challenging behaviour will be beneficial, as you will need to tailor your approach due to the class being highly mixed ability.

The successful candidate must hold an education based qualification and have recent experience working in Primary schools. We must also be able to obtain two references from your most recent employers. This role is to work Monday - Friday, full time, until summer 2018.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
