EYFS/ Key Stage 1 PPA Teacher - Oswaldtwistle Primary School

  • Part time role (3 days a week)
  • Role starting October 2019 until the end of the academic year
  • Experience in EYFS/Key Stage 1 is essential

A faith primary school are looking for an EYFS/Key Stage 1 PPA Teacher who will be working 2 days a week. The role would be covering PPA and subject leadership time. You must have experience across Key Stage 1 and sound knowledge of the EYFS National Curriculum. The role is to start after the October half term (Monday 28th October) and would continue until the end of the academic year. The school have said you will have the opportunity to meet the class teachers and become familiar with the school and children prior to the role starting. You would be briefed on the schools expectations as well as the Curriculum coverage. The Head Teacher has said that they would like someone who has worked closely with the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme.

Your scheduled timetable would be:

  • Wednesday morning - Covering Year 1 (PPA)
  • Wednesday afternoon - Covering Year 2 (PPA)
  • Thursday morning - Covering EYFS (PPA)
  • Thursday afternoon - Covering Year 2 (Allocated Subject leader time)
  • Friday morning - Covering EYFS (Allocated Subject leader time)
  • Friday afternoon - Covering Year 1 (Allocated Subject leader time)

The classes are average sized with a mixed catchment of white British and Asian heritage. The school is situated in a socially deprived area so a high percentage of the pupils come to school working well below Age Related Expectation in Reading, Writing and Maths. During your time at school you would have the allocated class Teaching Assistant with you, providing support and able to work with groups of children. The overall behaviour in this school is good and it is important you are able to demonstrate positive behaviour strategies.

Job Type: Part time (Wednesday to Friday)

Salary: £95 - £120 per day

Start date: Monday 28th October 2019

End date: Thursday 23rd July 2020
