EYFS/ Key Stage 1 PPA Teacher - Burnley Primary School

A Church of England Primary School requires an EYFS/Key Stage 1 PPA Teacher, 2 days a week. The role would be covering PPA and management time. You must have experience across Key Stage 1 and sound knowledge of the EYFS National Curriculum. The school have said you will have a day to meet the Class Teachers and become familiar with the school and children. You would be briefed on the schools expectations as well as the Curriculum coverage. EYFS have a fantastic range of resources, thus providing the children with a wide range of opportunities in the classroom and in outdoor provision. Both Year 1 and Year 2 have quality resources such as a class set of iPads. Overall the behaviour in this school is good, it is important to be able to demonstrate positive behaviour strategies.

Your scheduled timetable would be:

  • Tuesday morning - Covering EYFS (PPA)
  • Tuesday afternoon - Covering Year 1 (PPA)
  • Wednesday morning - Covering Year 2 (PPA)
  • Wednesday afternoon - Covering Year 2 (Allocated Subject leader time)

The classes are average sized and the catchment is predominantly white British pupils. The school is situated in a socially deprived area so a high percentage of the pupils come to school working well below Age Related Expectation in Reading, Writing and Maths. During your time at school you would have the allocated class Teaching Assistant with you, providing support and able to work with groups of children.
