Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for Teaching Assistants who are experienced of working with different needs and abilities. We are looking for candidates who are looking for Long term, short term or day to day work to support our schools with their staff requirements.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be expected to support pupils from a variety of backgrounds, who may have a range of learning and/or behavioural difficulties. The role can be challenging, but watching the progress of the pupils that you work with can also be extremely rewarding.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be expected to:
- make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
- support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
- support the teacher in managing challenging pupil behaviour and promoting positive behaviour
- work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or small group work
- support with break and lunchtimes if needed
- communicate effectively with both pupils and staff
- and much more!
You must have:
- GCSE A-C in Maths and English
- Experience of working with children and young people
Having additional qualifications such as; A Levels, Degree, CACHE, BTEC or NVQ or others related to working with children and young people, then make this clear on your CV as this will strengthen your application.
You must be able to drive with access to your own vehicle.
A DBS is needed in child workforce only. As part of our vetting requirements your DBS needs to be on the Update Service. If you do not have either of these then do not hesitate to contact us as we can help you to go through the application process. However if you do have a DBS in child work force on the update service then your documents can be cleared faster.
