Teaching Personnel is looking for an Exams Officer for a full time or part-time, long term role within a secondary school based in Bath. The school creates a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for its students, making it an exciting place to work and study in.
Ideal candidates will have Exams Officer experience, however a strong administration background will be considered. You must be very organised, with excellent time-management skills.
The school is based in Bath, with excellent public transport links and ample parking is available.
To join us and be successful in this Exams Officer role you will need to:
- Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Provide a CV that must cover the last 6 years of employment/education history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
Job Purpose:
The Examinations Officer is responsible for the administration and organisation of all aspects of external and internal examinations in accordance with the regulations laid down by the awarding bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the process of student assignment submissions
- To collect the grades and examination results from internal and external markers and record them accurately in the results database.
- To co-ordinate the external markers (if any) in liaison with Course Leaders.
- To manage the running of external and internal examinations.
- To make arrangements for internal examinations, including the production of the timetable, rooming and invigilation and ensuring that all required materials are in the examination rooms for the start of the examinations and arrangements for candidates with special educational needs are in place.
- To arrange invigilation, including briefing and training invigilators in college procedures.
- To organise special educational needs provision, including liaising with the Course Leaders and Lecturers regarding candidates with special educational needs; applying to awarding bodies for special arrangements for such candidates.
- To be responsible for the security of exam, test papers and assignments and to ensure the safe and efficient dispatch of scripts and other materials to the examination boards, examiners and moderators.
- To service and advise the School Examination Boards.
- To work efficiently on any queries, re-mark requests and missing marks following results day, including assisting students in clarification of grades and making contact with exam boards and awarding bodies as necessary.
- To answer enquiries and deal with complaints regarding external and internal examinations with staff and students.
- To submit entries for external examinations to awarding bodies in advance of deadlines.
- To ensure that costs of retakes etc are reimbursed by candidates/departments, as appropriate.
- To implement, adhere and assist in development of the Examination Policy for the School.
- To provide management information (e.g. pass rates) upon request
- To archive all students assessments and results accordingly.
