Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a South Liverpool school who are looking for exam invigilators for GCSE exams. This is initially for mock exams and thereafter actual GCSE's. The school is located in South Liverpool with on site parking for teaching assistants who drive. Alternatively, there are bus stops within walking distance to the school.

Duties of Invigilators

  • Assisting with setting-up examination venues by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures
  • Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues
  • Offering advice and guidance to unregistered candidates without allocated seats
  • Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside examination venues
  • Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures
  • Checking attendance during examinations
  • Recording details of late arrivals and early leavers and collecting scripts from early leavers
  • Escorting candidates from venues during the examinations as required, and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venues
  • Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures

This role is suitable for anyone who has worked in an educational based setting and is familiar with the school environment. This person will also have to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
