Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an Academy Trust who are looking to appoint a confident, self-motivated Grounds Assistant. They are looking for an individual who is a good communicator, patient with a friendly approach and able to work independently to join their busy site team.
You will provide security, cleaning and porterage service to the school sites. The role is a physical one and will require lifting, sometimes working at heights and assisting with community lettings.
You may be required to work some of your contracted hours at other schools within the Trust as deemed reasonable and subject to the needs of the different establishments within the Trust
This role, as part of the Estates Team, is crucial to the continued forward movement of the Trust over the next few years. The schools in the trust provide facilities for staff and students, but also to a wide and varied range of community users and groups. The school sites, both in Gosport, may be open seven days a week and the post holder must therefore be flexible and adaptable to help the site meet the needs of its users.
The successful candidate will provide support and assistance with the maintenance of buildings, grounds, materials and equipment so that optimum use of the site can be made for school and community purposes.
The duties to be undertaken by this post will encompass a range of activities including the provision of unlocking/locking up, site security, overseeing of lettings/hirers, routine maintenance, decorating, moving and handling of objects and primarily ensuring the site is kept clean and safe. Effective team working and flexibility is essential.
