Teaching personnel are seeking Teachers and Support Assistants to work with EAL students in and around Peterborough

  • Do you have experience working in an education setting?
  • Can you provide tutoring to small groups on in 1:1 sessions?
  • Can you speak a second language and support a pupil with EAL?

We offer schools a fantastic tutoring service to increase pupil attainment. We call this our intervention programme & the successful candidate will help pupils who need additional support on either a 1:1 or group basis out of the classroom. These courses have proven to be very successful & children have achieved results that schools have been very pleased with.

We are seeking Teachers & Teaching Assistants who have experience working with EAL pupils &/or have a specific language skills relevant to the EAL pupils they support that are looking for either full or part-time work in Peterborough.

One of the major benefits of the EAL intervention programme is the flexibility. You can work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups within a mainstream classroom setting. We will match the tutoring work opportunities with your availability & preferred location, offering a truly flexible role.

These tutoring opportunities will mostly take place during school hours, at a suitable learning environment within the school, however you may be required to work outdoors, taking part in activities to encourage trust & help build confidence.

Responsibilities will include;

*Supporting & teaching pupils who’s first language is not English to help them get the most out of education.

*Working alongside key school staff to reduce levels of unauthorised absence & improve levels of attendance and behaviour;

*Motivating & challenging children;

*Promoting & reinforcing children by showing enthusiasm & creativity;

*Passing feedback to teachers about children’s development.

The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about working with children, patient & have a friendly nature about them.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
