English Tutor

Job description

A small Salford based Secondary school is seeking a full time English Tutor to join their staff team from October 2019 or earlier to provide targeted intervention support to pupils at Key Stage 3.

  • Full time English Tutor required from October 2019 or earlier.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Must hold relevant qualifications within English to be considered, any previous experience working with young people within an Education capacity is highly advantageous.
  • Small group English intervention sessions (KS3)
  • Covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supporting with planning activities in the English department
  • Earn up to £325 per week.

This position will incorporate supporting the class teacher with lessons, and working directly with identified pupils across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four to raise attainment and understanding in English.

The Secondary school is situated at the heart of Salford just off the M60 motorway and is easily accessible via the surrounding areas: Bury, Bolton and Trafford. The English department currently has three experienced teachers, but due to an increase in class sizes, the benefit of an English Tutor would support in raising attainment and providing a more personal teaching experience for low ability pupils.
