Large Bolton based Secondary school are currently in the process of recruiting English Teachers and Graduates of English following a request from the Governors and Senior Leadership they are now seeking applications from English Specialists who are able to provide tuition to students in preparation for key upcoming GCSE examinations.

  • English Tuition and intervention specialist required immediately.

The role as the successful English tutor is perfect for recent graduates of English wishing to gain secondary school based experience in pursuit of a future teacher training course or an experienced English teacher wishing to take on tuition based role.

All applicants will be delivering intervention programs to individuals ensuring that identified students are well supported and have the opportunity to achieve their target grades.

The responsibilities for the incoming English Tutors may include;

  • Deliver targeted intervention and tuition with pre-planned resources across Key stages 3-4.
  • Track pupil progress and assist on the recording and monitoring the development of pupils which are being supported.
  • Work closely with other professionals such as Learning Managers and Teaching Assistants to support students.
  • Liaise regularly with the Head of Department and teachers to inform them of progress and provide relevant feedback.

The school, located in central Bolton can be found just a few miles from the town centre, making it commutable via public transport and is easily accessible via the M60. They have recently converted to an academy and are making excellent progress in raising standards across the board. This is an average sized Secondary School with around 1050 children aged 11-16 on roll, with the number who speak English as an additional language is slightly lower than the national average. Results are improving in the core subjects and pupils are continuing to make good progress.
