English Graduate Learning Mentor

  • Full time English graduate post, initially 2 terms
  • Supporting identified students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Gain classroom based experience whilst being paid

Our client secondary school located in Oldham are seeking an English graduate to join their English department on a full time basis, starting in September.

As an English graduate you will be working with students identified to have not met the minimum levels of attainment in English. This post will initially be for the first two terms with the potential to carry on till the end of the academic year.

Located in Oldham in the heart of Chadderton, the school is situated close to the M62 and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas Bury, Rochdale and Central Manchester via public transport links. This is a larger than average secondary school with over 1400 students currently on roll and has most recently been graded ‘Good’ across all areas by Ofsted.

Responsibility as an English Graduate:

• Delivering interventions to low ability students to raise their attainment

• Supporting students identified as gifted and talented on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

• Covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

• Providing feedback to the English department on the performance of all students

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
