Teaching assistant (English specialism)

Full time opportunity in September as a teaching assistant with a focus on English, working within a secondary school in the south Manchester area. Whether you are an experienced teaching assistant or graduate with a strong background in English, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Situated in a diverse community of Manchester, this is a RC faith orientated secondary school with excellent facilities especially in English. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with members of the English department, supporting teachers during lessons and leading small groups of children who have been selected to help boost their understanding of the subjects. Previous teaching assistant experience is desired, if you have worked previously as a teaching assistant or volunteered in a similar capacity with secondary aged children this could be great for you.

This teaching assistant position is initially being offered on a temporary basis via “supply” for one term, with the possibility of extending for the full 12 months/academic year. You will need to have suitable references and a DBS (or be eligible to apply) to be considered.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
